2010 Moscow Metro bombings

On March 28 in 2010, a Metro system in Moscow was suicide bombed by two female Islamists killing 38 or more people and injuring others. The attack was in the morning at about 8:00AM and officials said that the bomb was detonated in Lubyanka station. Pieces of the bombers were found and KGB agents identified them as Islamic bombers from North Caucasus, Russia. Vladimir Putin later said that "Terrorists will be destroyed" along with other statements regarding the bombing. This was one of the worst terrorist attacks Russia has seen for years now, and it puts the country back on high alert once again after ending active counter-terrorist forces half a year ago.
